3D Printer Filaments

3D filaments (plastic fibers) are building materials for a 3D printer with which three-dimensional objects can be produced. 3D filaments differ in many ways. Quality, size, type and whether the filament z.b. Food safe or not, decide on the choice of the desired filament. You can divide the filaments into the respective materials: plastics, synthetic resins, ceramics, metals. Well-known and often used filaments are made of plastic and synthetic resin. These are widely used in industry and private use.

Motedis filaments

Motedis filaments are wound on a spool, vacuum packed together with a desiccant. The Motedis online store specializes in the following types and offers them in different sizes:
Filter:

ABS + (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), 1.75mm - 1kg + 2kg | 2,85mm, 1kg

ABS is widely used in industry. In addition to kitchen appliances, automotive components and musical instruments, ABS is also found in toys. ABS is relatively cheap in price, it is also robust, durable and withstands high heat. The ABS + from Motedis features a reduced shrinkage process and improved adhesive layers compared to standard ABS material and also has a 6x greater flow ratio.

PLA (polylactides), 1.75mm - 1kg | 2,85mm - 1kg | 1.75mm - 2kg | 1.75mm - 5kg

The material PLA is made from plant starch and used in human medicine, e.g. used in implants. The reason for this is the conversion into harmless lactic acid. PLA is more environmentally friendly than e.g. ABS derived from petroleum. PLA is tough, solid and is well received in the 3D printer community. Above all, it is a "beginner material" for the start in the private 3D printing. Motedis has a large assortment of many colors and two sizes available.

PET-G (polyethylene terephthalate) - (glycol), 1.75mm - 1kg | 1.75mm - 2kg | 1.75mm - 5kg

PET-G is a glycol-modified PET that is characterized by its watery (viscosity) properties and is therefore used in 3D printing. PET = polyethylene terephthalate is of the polyester family and is a thermoplastic produced by polycondensation. PET, like ABS, has a variety of uses and is e.g. used for the production of plastic bottles (PET bottles), felts or tows for clothing, home textiles and industrial purposes.

HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene), 1.75mm - 1kg | 2,85mm - 1kg

HIPS is a high impact polystyrene modified with rubber. The material is used in cases of computers and televisions. It is used as a substrate with 3D printers.

TPU (urethane based thermoplastic elastomers), 1.75mm - 1kg

TPU as a material can be found among others. Application in the production of hoses, films and profiles. The high strength and durability e.g. against UV, oxygen, oils and fats characterize a TPU filament. The high thermoplastic processability makes TPU a popular printing material for rubber-like products and therefore a very good material for 3D printers.

POM (polyoxymethylene) 1.75 mm - 0.5 kg

POM Also known as polyacetal or acetal, is a construction thermoplastic known for its mechanical properties. It is particularly dimensionally stable and has high temperature resistance. Because of these properties, POM finds application in the manufacture of gears and bearings. POM is not easy to print. It takes some experience and a few tests and adjustments to produce presentable results. POM is a very special filament, so we currently only have one size and color in our online store.
